Weekend Hikes

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
We offer Monthly (Depending on our guide’s schedules) weekend ladies-only hikes rotating in various areas ranging from Hayward all the way to Pescadero.

These outings might include moderately challenging hikes or mornings of more carefree wandering with activities such as nature journaling and poetry writing.
Meeting time is usually a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday between 6:00-7:00 am depending on where we are meeting and sunrise. We hit the trail on time and if you are late, you end up playing a nice fun game of hike and go seek…
Most hikes are about 2 hours and we ask everyone to

Day Trips
We offer 2 annual ladies-only day trips including destinations such as Anza Borrego desert state park, Joshua Tree National Park, and Lake Arrowhead.

Camping/Backpacking
We offer 1 annual overnight trip, rotating between camping and backpacking. These weekends are full of adventure, camaraderie, games, and reflection all set in the beautiful outdoors.

Our Motto is
Explore, Connect, Create and GROW..

Who is leading the hike? Scroll down to see our current leaders.

Once you’ve hiked enough with us and feel comfortable, you can also lead hikes on trails we have already done. The best way to learn after all is to teach. The best way to find happiness is to give back.

Can kids come? No, this is for ladies only 18+. Babies/infants who cannot walk yet are welcome to come as long as you’re carrying them on the hike.

Can I bring friends with me who are not signed up? No, if your friends wish to come, they may sign up through our website and are welcome to join.

How much does it cost?
Hikes are FREE however, suggested donations are $15 a person, which helps us to keep these programs running.

MEET YOUR WILDFLOWERS LEADERSHIP TEAM

Nesrin - Hike Leader

I’m Nesrin — a mama of three who finds my happy outside. Whether it’s a quiet trail, a tent under the stars, or the open road with my kids in tow, being in Allah (swt)’s creation is where I feel most alive. I’m so excited to bring mamas together to hike, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves and our Creator, one trail at a time.

Sama Wareh - Hike Leader

Sama has a strong passion for the outdoors and the environment. Her vision of sharing her passion with the community in a way that channels a deep and meaningful connection is what sparked the creation of the Art and Wilderness Institute. Her philosophy of instilling MAGIC into the learning experience is at the heart of all classes taught at AWI.
She has been in the environmental education field for over 15 years and has served in all capacities.
Along with Khadeeja and Syma, Sama is a co-founder of the Art and Wilderness Institute.
