Hafsah Yasin

Equipped with a lifelong connection to the outdoors, multi-media artistic skill, and extensive tutoring and mentorship experience, Hafsah brings a comprehensive skillset to her apprenticeship with the Art and Wilderness Institute. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and Islamic Studies from Zaytuna College, in Berkeley, California in May, 2024. Prior to that she attended Waldorf and Montessori schools, homeschooled, and spent eight months in Yemen at a traditional Islamic Studies institute at the age of sixteen. Growing up in rural New England, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Austin, Texas, provided her frequent interaction with a wide variety of people, cultures, and places. She has ten plus years of experience tutoring kids and teens in Qur’an and Islamic Studies, attended and co-lead camping and hiking trips since she was a teen, a two-year youth leadership program, worked as a Residential Assistant in college, spent several months post-grad working on family farms and a dairy farm with WWOOF, and continues to study and practice art, agriculture, outdoorsmanship, environmental stewardship, and animal husbandry at Sage Steward Farm. Her broad range of geographical, educational, and personal experiences make her adaptable, personable, and dependable.
